Episode 197, Something to Live For

Too many people, in my view, go through life as a struggle against something.

Don't get me wrong--life IS a struggle at times, and you do need to fight your way through problems you encounter in your life.  But life should be more than a struggle against something. We shouldn't live strictly to avoid negative things. We should be striving for positive experiences, positive outcomes.

Preppers, some of them, make their lives nothing more than preparing for disaster.  Being prepared is prudent, but as the sole motivation for life it makes you dreary and one-dimensional. In this show, I explore the necessity of a more positive outlook on life, and the many benefits. And I talk about what it might mean to you and me to live positively.

Give this show a listen.  It will change your mood--positively!

  1. Pete,

Great episode. I appreciate you giving an update on your church situation. Those going through similar experiences can benefit from your perspective. It sounds like both the pastor and the bishop reject the authority of the Bible as God's revelation to man. To imagine that one's own sensibilities and reason are superior to God's written word is a dangerous path to follow.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end is the way of death(Proverbs 14:12).

I applaud you for rejecting moral relativism and standing up for the truth.

  2. Thanks very much Tim, appreciate your comments. I'm thinking of proposing that the church leave the ELCA, that might shake things up!

    1. That would definitely shake things up. Local control is always better if your church is able to support itself financially.
